Leadership Meeting of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock Products Held with the President of the Afghanistan International Exhibition Center

The leadership of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock Products held a meeting with the President of the Afghanistan International Exhibition Center to review the final preparations for the Afghanistan International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition.

The meeting was attended by Haji Khan Mohammad Forotan, Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors; Haji Omid Haidari, Head of International Relations; Haji Azizullah Hessam, Haji Tala Mohammad Mohammadi, and Yahya Khan Zadran, members of the Board of Directors; Dr. Wasim Safi, Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber; Mojtaba Sabbar, Director of Communications and Public Awareness; Zalgai Amini, Director of Revenue; Haji Mohammad Saber Latifi, President of the Afghanistan International Exhibition Center; Parwiz Haidari, Chief Executive Officer of the Iran–Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce; and Mr. Raman Pal Uppal, Secretary General of the Northern Seed Association.

Opening the meeting, Haji Khan Mohammad Forotan welcomed the participants and highlighted the vital role of agriculture and livestock in Afghanistan’s economy, noting that more than 70 percent of the country’s population depends directly or indirectly on these sectors for their livelihoods. He stated that promoting agriculture and livestock, supporting domestic production, and showcasing Afghanistan’s agricultural potential are among the key objectives of the exhibition.

Referring to current challenges, particularly drought and water scarcity, he stressed that adopting modern technologies and expanding regional and international cooperation can significantly enhance agricultural and livestock production. He also announced the Chamber’s full readiness to host the event, including a comprehensive promotional campaign featuring brochures and billboards in Kabul and several provinces.

Haji Mohammad Saber Latifi, President of the Afghanistan International Exhibition Center, presented an update on the coordination efforts for the exhibition. He reported ongoing engagement with companies in the agriculture and livestock sectors, coordination with embassies, invitations to international trade delegations, and plans for the participation of the Minister of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He added that the exhibition aims to showcase modern technologies, create investment opportunities, support domestic production, and encourage farmers and livestock breeders to attend.

Dr. Wasim Safi, Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber, emphasized the importance of the participation of banks and financial institutions, describing it as an important step toward facilitating investment and expanding financial services for producers and investors. He also announced that all provincial branches of the Chamber have been invited to participate actively in the exhibition.

Mr. Raman Pal Uppal, Secretary General of the Northern Seed Association, reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to strengthening trade relations between Afghanistan and India and confirmed its participation in the exhibition.
