Meeting of the Supreme Council of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock Products Held with the Participation of Provincial Chamber Presidents

A meeting of the Supreme Council of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock Products was held under the leadership of Haji Khan Mohammad Forotan, Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, with the participation of the presidents of the provincial chambers.

The meeting was convened to strengthen coordination among the Chamber’s activities, review future plans and programs, expand and establish provincial chambers, assess the opportunities and challenges facing the agriculture and livestock sector across different regions of the country, and coordinate preparations for the Afghanistan International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition, scheduled to be held from )11–16 August 2026(

The program commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Haji Omid Haidari, Head of the Chamber’s International Relations Department. The meeting then proceeded in accordance with the approved agenda, moderated by Dr. Wasim Safi.

At the outset, Haji Khan Mohammad Forotan, Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, welcomed the members of the Supreme Council and presented a comprehensive report on the Chamber’s activities, achievements, and future plans. Subsequently, the presidents of the provincial chambers presented reports on their respective activities, accomplishments, opportunities, and challenges in their provinces.

During the meeting, the Agriculture and Livestock Product Chambers of Herat and Nangarhar provinces were recognized as exemplary provincial chambers for their outstanding performance. While expressing appreciation for the efforts of all provincial chambers, the Chairman emphasized the importance of expanding their activities and strengthening their role in the growth and development of Afghanistan’s agriculture and livestock sector. He further stated that provincial chambers demonstrating stronger performance would continue to receive the Chamber’s full support and recognition.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the members of the Supreme Council emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings of the provincial chambers, increasing their activities, reviewing and reactivating inactive chambers, establishing Agriculture and Livestock Product Chambers in provinces where they have not yet been formed, and submitting challenges and recommendations to the Chamber’s central office through official correspondence for follow-up and necessary action.

Mr. Raman Pal Uppal, Secretary General of the Northern Seed Association, reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to strengthening trade relations between Afghanistan and India and confirmed its participation in the exhibition.
