Meeting Between the Leadership of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agricultural and Livestock Products and the United Nations Representative

The leadership of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agricultural and Livestock Products participated in the Afghanistan-Iran Business Networking Conference, which was held in the presence of senior officials from both countries, representatives of economic institutions, and a number of private-sector members from Afghanistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

At the beginning of the conference, the Chairman of the Afghanistan-Iran Joint Chamber, referring to the broad economic and trade potential between the two countries, described the presence of the Iranian delegation in Kabul as an important opportunity to expand trade, investment, and economic cooperation. He also emphasized facilitating the visa issuance process for traders and investors, improving transit and transportation, reducing trade costs, and establishing systematic mechanisms to address traders’ challenges.

Speaking at the conference, the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan emphasized the development of economic relations with neighboring and regional countries and described joint cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran as important for strengthening the economies of both countries and the region.

Gholam-Reza Nouri Ghezeljeh, Minister of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran, also emphasized expanding and strengthening relations between the two countries and cooperation in various sectors, particularly food security and private-sector development. He stated that creating favorable conditions for the private sectors of both countries to operate could play a fundamental role in expanding economic cooperation.

Dr. Khwaja Abdul Rahim Sediqi, Technical and Professional Deputy of the Chamber, described the conference as a valuable opportunity to strengthen relations between Afghanistan and Iran and expressed his appreciation for the positive and friendly relations between the two countries.

During the conference, speakers and representatives of economic institutions and the private sectors of both countries shared their views on economic and trade relations, joint cooperation, the needs of both countries, and opportunities for joint investment in Afghanistan’s agriculture sector.

At the conclusion, emphasis was placed on strengthening economic and trade cooperation, supporting the private sector, and creating greater opportunities for investment and joint cooperation between Afghanistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

and services to producers and economic stakeholders across the country.

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Wasim Safi, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agricultural and Livestock Products, and members of the Chamber were presented with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their efforts and services toward the growth and development of Afghanistan’s agriculture and livestock sectors.
