Signing of Cooperation Agreements among Afghan, Iranian, and Indian Companies in the Agriculture and Livestock Sectors on the Fourth Day of the First International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition of Afghanistan
A signing ceremony for cooperation agreements among companies from Afghanistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Republic of India in the agriculture and livestock sectors was held in the presence of officials, traders, and representatives of companies from the three countries.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Khwaja Abdul Rahim Sediqi, followed by a specialized presentation on agriculture and agricultural investment.
In his speech, Haji Khan Mohammad Forotan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Agricultural and Livestock Production of Afghanistan, emphasized the importance of holding such meetings to improve the agricultural sector, expand trade cooperation, and create opportunities for Afghanistan’s economic development.
Mawlawi Sadr Azam Osmani, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Afghanistan, then spoke about the importance of cooperation agreements and their role in the development of agriculture. He emphasized the domestic production and use of improved seeds and the achievement of self-sufficiency in the agricultural sector, describing agricultural self-sufficiency as one of the key objectives of the ministry.
Kamal Somani, Chairman and CEO of Kamal Somani Seed, also emphasized the need to strengthen coordination and expand trade cooperation between India and Afghanistan. Referring to India’s capabilities in agricultural research and product development, he stressed the importance of utilizing these capacities to expand agricultural production and achieve organic products.
Following the speeches, business meetings and bilateral B2B negotiations were held among companies from Afghanistan, Iran, and India. As a result, cooperation agreements were signed between a numbers of companies from the three countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Indian delegation expressed its appreciation and gratitude to the members of the leadership of the Chamber of Agricultural and Livestock Production of Afghanistan for their valuable cooperation and efforts in organizing and managing the First International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition of Afghanistan.
