
Presence of the Minister of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Second Day of the First Afghanistan International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition
Today, Wednesday, 21 Asad 1405, corresponding to August 12, 2026, Gholam-Reza Nouri Ghezeljeh, Minister of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran, attended the second day of the First Afghanistan International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition and visited various sections and exhibition booths.
During the visit, in the presence of the leadership and executive boards of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agricultural and Livestock Production, the Deputy Minister and members of the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Afghanistan, the Iranian Minister of Agriculture visited various exhibition halls and became closely acquainted with Afghanistan’s agricultural and livestock products and productions.
At the beginning of the program, Haji Khan Mohammad Forotan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agricultural and Livestock Production, welcomed the Minister of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressed his appreciation for his presence at the exhibition. He emphasized the expansion of joint cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran in the fields of agriculture and livestock.
Mr. Forotan also referred to Afghanistan’s decades-long challenges, including economic difficulties, water shortages, and food security concerns, emphasizing the importance of benefiting from the experience, technical expertise, and capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fields of agriculture, livestock, and horticulture. He called for the development of practical cooperation between the two countries in these areas.
In response, Gholam-Reza Nouri Ghezeljeh, Minister of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressed his satisfaction with the invitation and participation in the First Afghanistan International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition and thanked the Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. He emphasized that through unity, solidarity, and cooperation, it is possible to create better opportunities to serve the people of both countries.
The Iranian Minister of Agriculture highlighted the importance of transferring technical knowledge and experience, expanding economic relations, and strengthening cooperation in the field of food security. He stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to make its knowledge, experience, and technical capacities available to Afghanistan and to cooperate in developing the agricultural sector and ensuring food security.
Following the meeting, the leadership and executive boards of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agricultural and Livestock Production, together with the Deputy Minister and members of the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Afghanistan and the Minister of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited various exhibition booths and halls. During the visit, they viewed domestic products and productions and emphasized supporting local production and strengthening trade cooperation.
At the end of the program, a number of Afghan and Iranian traders and economic stakeholders in various sectors signed B2B agreements and commercial contracts aimed at expanding economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
The exhibition will continue for six days, from 20 to 25 Asad 1405 (August 11–16, 2026). Companies, traders, investors, and citizens are invited to visit the event and become familiar with the agricultural and livestock products and capacities of Afghanistan and the participating countries.
At the end of the ceremony, the ministers and officials of the relevant ministries, along with the leadership of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agricultural and Livestock Production, visited the booths of the Afghanistan International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition.
