Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock Products Leadership Participates in the Second National Conference on the Reintegration of Returnees into the Private Sector
The leadership delegation of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock Products participated in the Second National Conference on the Reintegration of Returnees into the Private Sector, held in Kabul with the participation of representatives from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the private sector, international organizations, economic experts, and foreign institutions.
The conference focused on the role of the private sector in creating employment opportunities, supporting domestic production, improving product quality and services, and facilitating the sustainable reintegration of returnees into Afghanistan’s economy.
During the event, key government officials, international representatives, and private sector leaders discussed strategies for economic development, job creation, and the integration of returnees. The conference included two specialized panel discussions: one on international support for returnees and another on the role of the private sector in their reintegration.
Representing the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock Products in the second panel, Mr. Haji Khan Mohammad Frotan, Chairman of the Board, presented practical recommendations and classified returnees into three categories: unskilled workers requiring vocational training, skilled professionals suitable for employment opportunities, and investors capable of contributing to productive sectors. He emphasized the Chamber’s readiness to facilitate training, employment, and investment opportunities in agriculture, livestock, agro-processing industries, and other productive sectors.
Mr. Frotan also highlighted that many returnees are already employed within member companies of the Chamber and noted the significant capacity of the private sector to absorb additional returnee workers.
The conference concluded with a strong emphasis on the vital role of the private sector in employment generation, investment promotion, domestic production growth, and the successful reintegration of returnees into Afghan society and the economy.
